The heart of Käthe Wohlfahrt is the Christmas Village located on the marketplace of the romantic town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. It offers the worlds largest selection of traditional German Christmas decorations and many unique gift ideas – all year round!

When visitors from around the world are asked about their impressions, they use words like: “breathtaking, unique, magical, a different world, …” See for yourself! Across approximately 1,000 square meters of retail space, you’ll find nearly everything that belongs to a traditional Christmas celebration – pyramids, nutcrackers, incense smokers, candle arches, glass, wood, and pewter ornaments, festive table linens, and much more.

But the Christmas Village offers far more than just an extensive assortment:

At the entrance, guests are welcomed by a life-sized nutcracker. Inside, a snow-covered Franconian marketplace has been lovingly recreated. At its center stands a five-meter tall white Christmas tree that slowly rotates. Its 12,500 lights and more than 1,600 ornaments create a truly enchanting Christmas atmosphere. Standing guard over the village is Christian II, a nutcracker king towering at 3.8 meters. Another highlight is the 5.5-meter high Christmas pyramid, weighing an impressive two tons. Altogether, over 2,000 meters of fir garlands and more than 122,000 Christmas lights are used to decorate the space.

Every visit becomes an unforgettable experience.

Perhaps the most popular photo opportunity awaits just outside the Christmas Village: Käthe Wohlfahrt’s nostalgic Gift Express. You’ll spot the colorful bus from afar. Visitors from all over the world take pictures in front of it – bringing home a truly unique memory of their time at Käthe Wohlfahrt.
